Business branding - prep guide

Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer
Hello!
I'm so excited for our time together. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to feel calm, prepared, and completely yourself on session day. Grab a cuppa and have a read through — and don't forget to fill in your questionnaire (if you haven't already), so I know exactly what you're hoping to capture

Planning your outfits

How many looks are you planning to capture during the day? Often we will start with some head shots, then we might move on to some work in action and then finish with some content ideas so I would say 1-3 looks is sufficient. Please have these all preplanned and put aside ready for your shoot day.

Top tips
Pinterest inspo - You are most welcome to create a Pinterest board or send me some inspiration images, I just want you to remember this is not about copying someone else it's about taking an idea and making it your own so we can get imagery that is yours.
Clear on content - have a really good think about what images you need are they portrait or landscape? Is it more for your website or on social media? What kind of images would you need for marketing a new product/offer etc.
Be specific - the more information I have the better I can serve you, throughout the session you are welcome to suggest or ask me to capture something specific.
Nails
Your hands will possibly feature in photos, so give them a little love beforehand — smooth, chip-free nails go a long way in photos.
Hair & make up
If you have the time or skill, this is your moment to do your hair and makeup. At the very minimum, I'd suggest a little mascara and a swipe of lip balm — dry lips show up more than you'd think on camera! If you choose to book a hairdresser or makeup artist please mention to them this is for a shoot incase you need to reschedule your appointment you can ask their policies.
Getting ready
Give yourself plenty of time to get ready so you're not racing the clock. Prioritise having everything you need all ready to go. The more relaxed you feel the more that shows in your photos. This is your time to shine!

location
Just let me know if the questionnaire your business address and any instructions to find your location. If you can send me some pictures or a video tour that would be great. We will chat about the lighting and when is the best time of day for natural light photos in your space.

studio

157 Alabama road at Gray Floral
Message me when you arrive 0273585265 I will come and meet you. The studio is located at Gray Floral. My studio is in the silver building the right hand door attached to the large shed with two garage doors.
The space is small and cosy with LED lights so we never need to worry about the weather/rescheduling because I can heat and light the space.

Outdoor sunset

Your choice of Marlborough location
I'll have my camera bag on hand for small essentials like keys, phones — pop them in and I'll carry it while we shoot, so you can stay hands-free.
Welcome to bring any props/outfit changes with you.
Shoes - if we're at the beach I recommend shoes that slip on and off that can get wet and sandy even a bottle of water and a towel incase you need to wash your feet. For all other locations shoes that are practical and match your looks.

Weather & Rescheduling
Weather can be unpredictable, so here's how we handle it:
Overcast/cloudy: I may suggest starting 1–1.5 hours earlier to catch the best light.
Rain or strong wind: We'll postpone and find a new date together.
I'll always be in touch directly if I have concerns. I will contact you around 12pm midday on the day of the session to make any decisions.
Other reasons we may need to postpone:
+ Anyone attending the session is unwell
+ I'm unwell, or need to care for my son if he's under the weather
+ Extremely windy, rainy, or low-light conditions
We will postpone to the next mutually agreed date available.
